The Situation
Following an eviction, there can still be practical arrangements to manage before a property is ready to be handed back. In this London case, the former tenant’s belongings had already been packed during the initial eviction, but a further visit was required to remove the remaining personal possessions.
Both the client and the former tenant were present when the team arrived. The priority was to help move the packed belongings out of the property, remove food left in the fridge and document the condition of the premises once the personal possessions had been taken away.
Our Approach
The team attended the property and worked alongside the people present to manage the removal of the former tenant’s belongings. As the bags had already been packed during the initial eviction, these were moved into the hallway, where the former tenant’s friend carried them downstairs.
Food remaining in the fridge was also removed from the property. Once all the former tenant’s personal possessions had been taken out, photographs were taken to document the property.
A member of the team remained at the premises with the keys to lock up, helping ensure the property could be secured following the visit.
Outcome
The visit was completed in approximately 25 minutes. The packed belongings were moved out, the remaining food was removed from the fridge, and photographs were taken once the personal possessions had been cleared.
The report recorded that any items remaining at the property were either unwanted or belonged to the landlord. The visit enabled the outstanding arrangements following the initial eviction to be completed and the property to be documented.
