The Situation
The operator of an industrial estate in Pocklington needed urgent support after travellers established an encampment on site. The client required a lawful, on-site response to regain control quickly and minimise disruption to neighbouring businesses.
When Strikes Property Services Group attended in June 2025, the encampment consisted of one caravan and three vehicles. The matter required a controlled enforcement presence due to the risk of confrontation and refusal to leave.
After searching for traveller eviction services in the York area, the client contacted Strikes Property Services Group.
Our Approach
Strikes Property Services Group agents arrived on site at approximately 7:50am, identified the encampment, and photographed the vehicles and caravan as part of the attendance record.
An initial conversation with a male traveller confirmed he did not intend to leave and claimed that no action could be taken without a court order. Our agent explained the consequences of failing to vacate, including escalation and potential vehicle removal measures. During further exchanges across the morning, the situation escalated verbally, including threats of violence if the caravan was touched. Later, additional family members arrived and there was further abuse and threatening behaviour directed at the attending agent.
Strikes Property Services Group maintained a calm, controlled approach throughout and continued engagement on site. At around 12:00pm, the travellers indicated they would leave by 1:00pm. Packing began shortly after, and all travellers vacated the site by approximately 12:50pm.
The site was photographed again after departure, neighbouring businesses were spoken to, and attendance concluded at approximately 1:00pm.
Outcome
The encampment was cleared on the same day as attendance, and the industrial estate was returned to the client without further escalation. Strikes Property Services Group’s de-escalation and on-site enforcement presence helped secure a safe outcome despite threats and abusive behaviour.
