The Situation
Strikes Property Services Group was instructed to attend a property in Manchester to investigate a vehicle suspected of having been abandoned in a multi-storey car park.
The vehicle, a red Ford Fiesta, was located on the ground floor of the car park. It appeared to have been stationary for a considerable period, with significant dirt covering the vehicle and two partially deflated tyres.
There were also indications that the vehicle may have been towed into position, as its front towing hook was connected. The vehicle was locked, meaning its interior could not be inspected during the attendance.
Strikes Property Services Group was tasked with documenting the vehicle’s condition and placing notices on it as part of the process.
Our Approach
Our Enforcement Agent, Roy Bennett, attended the location to assess the vehicle and record the circumstances surrounding its presence in the car park.
On arrival, Roy located the red Ford Fiesta on the ground floor. He noted its overall condition, including the heavy dirt covering the vehicle and the two partially deflated tyres. The connected towing hook was also photographed, recording an indication that the vehicle may have been moved to the location rather than driven there.
As the vehicle was locked, the agent documented its external condition. Notices were placed on the vehicle, and photographs were taken from all sides to provide a comprehensive visual record of its condition and position.
Roy’s body-worn camera remained switched on throughout the attendance, providing an additional record of the visit.
Outcome
The attendance established a photographic record of the vehicle and its apparent condition, with notices placed on it for the next stage of the process.
The visit was completed quickly, demonstrating a focused and documented approach to investigating a suspected abandoned vehicle.
The case was attended by Roy Bennett (Enforcement Agent), supported by the wider Strikes Property Services Group team.
