The Situation

The owners of a commercial property on Booth Street in Manchester needed urgent support after the tenant business, Avalanche, entered compulsory liquidation. With the position changing quickly, the landlord required a compliant enforcement-led response to protect the premises, follow the correct legal route, and regain control in line with the court process.

A company winding-up order had been made by the High Court of Justice (Chancery Division, Manchester) in February 2016, and the landlord needed an experienced team to act on the warrant/instructions and manage the on-site steps required.

After searching for enforcement services in Manchester, the client contacted Strikes Property Services Group.

Our Approach

Strikes Property Services Group acted on the warrant and instructions provided, managing the on-site closure process and liaising as required with the landlord’s side.

In industry coverage, Chris Bane (director of Strikes Property Services Group) commented that the situation was uncertain at the time and that the outcome could still change, noting Strikes’ role was to act on the warrant and landlord instruction.

This case made the news – Strikes Bailiffs (former trading name of Property Services Group) was named in reporting by The Caterer: read the article.

Outcome

The restaurant closed its doors following the compulsory liquidation process and the winding-up order. At the time of reporting, there was no final confirmation on whether it would reopen.
